PROJECTS 2014-15
The new playground at Bang Pek was such a success all this year's requests were for new or renovated playgrounds. We were able to fund 4 playgrounds.
NAMPRAMUNG SCHOOL
The children of the this village have their very first playground. CTH helped get the new play equipment to this remote village and teachers put the playground together with a brightly painted enclosure.
MANAETRUANG SCHOOL
The playground at this school was in disrepair. Their CTH grant paid for the repair of existing play equipment, and the purchase a few more pieces. Both the teachers and parents pitched in welding, painting and cleaning up the renovated play area.
NAJALONG SCHOOL
The playground was mobbed from day one. The kids can barely finish their lunches before they run out to play. The squeaks and groans of the simply built play equipment is no match for the joyful noise of the children.
SANGAM SCHOOL
CTH delivered new play equipment to this remote village 16 kilometers from the main road. The new play area serves both the school and the village nursery school.
PROJECTS 2013-14
In 2013 we initiated a formal grant application process. We received 5 grant applications. The following four grants were awarded:
MANAETRUANG SCHOOL
The school used their $1500 grant to grade and properly drain their playfield so it can be safely used year round. Engineering design assistance was also provided by CTH at no cost.
NAMPRAMUNG
Nampramung is entirely “off the grid”. Their grant of $1000 supplied the school with solar panels and batteries to generate power for classrooms and administrative areas.
BANG PEK
The grant of $1500 awarded to the school in this Lisu hill tribe village was used to build the kids' first playground.
HUAY PU KHENG
2013 was the second year we provided a $1000 grant to pay for student transportation at HPK. We have an ongoing commitment with the Village to fund this service.
